MENAPIA SAC OPEN 2010:
The
club OPEN was held on SATURDAY 6th MARCH 2010 at Morriscastle
Beach (Kilmuckridge) from 6pm to 10pm.
42
people entered the competition and it was a great success
all-round.
The prize fund was an estimated €1,260 with 100% payout.
The
weather was clear and conditions were good, although fishing was
very slow for the 1st hour. There was an abundance of Codling
caught throughout the competition, which looks promising for
future fish stocks. All fish were released to see another day.
Many thanks to those who travelled considerable distances to take
part - even the Rebel County managed to take home some prizes!! - the overall
winner was Paudie Driscoll
(West Cork & District) 25 fish. 609 points.
Particular
thanks to the organisers, who pegged the beach and made sure
everything ran smoothly - namely Brendan Wall, Brian Cantwell and
Joe Carley.
